BHUTANESE students persuing higher studies in the field of medicine, spread across in 3 medical universities in western and central provinces of Sri Lanka. All are doing MBBS(bachelor of medicine & bachelor of surgery(double degree))which is approximately 7 years course after completing will earn the title of a doctor.Since the arrival of first batch of Bhutanese students to study medicine here in sri Lanka almost a decade ago, the number of students has been increasing every year and expected to increase further in the coming years. The students' life is a stressful one and it is never easy to be studying away from home for long period of time with heavy and busy scheduled days. The life of a medical student is all the more demanding and exhausting. Under such conditions we could lose track of our goals if we do not stay focused and live healthily. The essence of the association is to enable us to live in a spirit of brotherhood and cooperation. it should remain our cherished endeavor to excel in academic and other extra curricular activities of our respective institutions.
As of March 2008 in Ragama Medical Faculty, university of Kelaniya, we have 29 medical students from 1st year to the final year, 5 intern doctors and 2 post graduate doctors.
